Fighting the bad food?

Any suggestions out there on how to fight the food I shouldnt be eating?  I am losing weight although Im not eating the greatest.  I need to start eating better.  I dont feel too bad, most the time but still.

Any suggestions on how to fight the hunger after working out?  I have that issue too!

    Several ideas:
Give the food a makeover-change ingredients to lowfat, low sugar, low calorie versions (healtier in any way) if its something you put together.
Look for subsitutions-for healthier versions. Good news, there is now that stuff every where thanks to everyone being so interested in weight loss. Like, instead of full fat ice cream–weight watchers makes yummy ones in single serve containers.
If its something you LOVE and cant subsitute or find ways to make it better–portion control or get rid of it if you cant do that.

Now, as for being hungry after workout: I have a single serving snack of protein after workouts.

I hope if this doesnt help, someone will have a good solution for ya…keep looking for options ok.

I like to eat some protein right before…Beef jerkey is real high in protein, low in fat and clories…

    Sometimes I do a high fiber granola…

And OFTEN I do some popcorn…VERY filling and gets me through my workout…

As far as avoiding bad food, I just dont keep it in the house. Cheese is my weakness. I know this. I know I can NOT eat it in moderation, so I just dont buy it.

Here’s a link to an article in Fitness Mag on post workout snacks. You DO want to eat after a workout….a combination of protein and carb. Hope this helps:

I drink a litre of water and eat a Banananana afer working out which stops me going through the fridge like biblical plague and gives my brain time to get back into “right thinking and mindfulness”.

And as for fighting the food you shouldn’t be eating. Arm yourself with large sturdy vegetables - celery for sword work and carrots for hand to hand combat - oranges make good grenades and lemons can be squeezed over the enemy to blind them !! tee hee

seriously - DONT HAVE BAD STUFF IN THE HOUSE - shop with a list and NEVER shop for groceries when you are hungry - you have to be your own champion of health - noone else can do this for you Apes

You’re doing brilliantly BTW - have a fantabulous day

Thank you! Its been a chaotic week for me, so I havent had much time on here. :( I havent had much time to do much of anything. Busy between work and life in general.

Well as for eating better there’s no other way than doing it. Finding healthy foods you enjoy always helps. I love oatmeal with fresh blueberries & almonds for lunch. And your after workout hunger, I read in a magazine, is all in your head. Just because you burn more calories doesn’t make you hungier -drink a ton of water afterwards. That’s probably what your body is really craving but tricking you to think you want food instead. Good Luck! Let me know how it works out :)
